Zermatt is one of the most popular Swiss resorts being on the top ten list in terms of trail quality and snow cover. This, as well as the developed infrastructure and the abundance of all kinds of entertainment, makes the resort extremely popular with holidaymakers. And although Zermatt is not exactly cheap, this fact does not stop hundreds of thousands of people from visiting the place every year, both in summer and in winter.
When is the best time to go on holiday to Zermatt? Opinions differ greatly. On the one hand, winter means clean air, and abundance of sunny days, even compared to the summer season. However, you will not see all the splendor of the flowering alpine meadows and lush greenery surrounding the resort from all sides. The vacation here starts during your ride here. If you order a taxi to Zermatt, you can enjoy unsurpassed mountain views and thier perfect snow covered surfaces through the window of the car.
In the summer the scenery changes, but not that much. Summer Zermatt differs only by lush greenery and an abundance of flowers. The beauty of this places is literally off the chart and always leaves a striking impression, whether you are here for the first time, or you a regular at conquering the resort’s skiing trails.
First of all, there are ski runs with options for absolute beginners and experienced athletes. Zermatt is best suited for skiers and snowboarders with experience, but those new to the sport will also have plenty to do.

There are over a hundred cafes, restaurants, bars and dance halls. There is a large sports center with a pool, sauna, tennis courts, ice rink and even a horse-drawn sleigh ride. And for shopping enthusiasts there are several elite boutiques and jewelry stores in the downtown area. If you order a taxi cab service in Zermatt, it will take you just 10 minutes to get to the center from your hotel. The streets here are practically empty.
There are regular train services from all nearby cities. You can also book a transfer to Zermatt from Geneva or Zurich Airport. Geneva is 155 miles and Zurich is about 150 miles away. The second option is better in terms of travel time - it takes about 90 minutes to get there by car.
