High average temperatures and moderate humidity contribute to the development of local wildlife. Various lush vegetation is the area’s signature mark. Here and there you can see flowering mimosas and camellias, magnificent oaks and graceful chestnut trees. The mountains, the lake, the abundance of greenery - all this creates a unique picture, combining the southern and northern climates into a perfect unity of colors and light.
While you are in Brissago, you should definitely visit the islands of the same name, located right at the foot of the Alps. These islands are filled with botanical gardens that are rich in exotic, subtropical plants grown out in the open.
Going to the islands is not that difficult, and they can be reached by one of the shuttle buses. The problem is the schedule - sometimes you have to wait for over half an hour. So if you don’t have time and can’t afford to wait, simply order a taxi service in Brissago, and an experienced driver will promptly take you to your destination and fill you in on the resort’s landmarks along the way.
